My schools Formula Hybrid team bent our motor mount tonight. The mad dash begins to source material and fabricate a new one tomorrow before the car goes to competition on Sunday.

You got a BFH ? You could straighten her out in a few minutes.

BFH is plan B. We don't exactly want to work harden a mount with a 100hp electric motor attached to it if we can avoid it. We already have an updated design (this part came with the motor), we just need to find material so we can water jet it.

Jus t hrow it in an oven for some “quick” annealing and it’ll be good as new XD

If you can, get blanchard ground plate. It will be much flatter and straight. Don’t be afraid to have it laser cut either.

What grade of steel are you us ing?

It turns out that what was on it was stainless steel. We now have a 3/8" aluminum mount of a much beefier design.

Something like that, I doubt we are going to bend it again.
